Since I started truboo, I have been asked this question a lot. “What is truboo?” It is a knit that combines two of my favorite things: knitting and trubbing. Yes, truboo is a wonderful project. So if you are interested in doing it, I would highly recommend getting yourself a pair of needles, a pattern, and an overlocker.
And to be perfectly honest, I have not finished a project in 5 years. This is because I decided to stop completely knitting and trubbing (aka knitting with one needle and using the same needle for the entire project).
For my first truboo, I was using a gorgeous sweater I got from my grandma and a pair of old clogs from my grandpa. I had no idea how to do the double-knitting, but I had to do it. I did it well, but I also did a couple of other things I hate, so I probably do it one of these days.
I’d like to say that I’m all about knitter/trubboos, but I’m not. I’m not. I’m not. My life is all knitter/trubboos and knitting and weaving and whatever.
But I do like the ones that I never actually did.
The way I see it, knittertrubboos are like the truncheons of the knitwear world. They can be used for anything you want to do. They can be used to make a sweater, or a hat, or a scarf, or a cardigan, or whatever you want to do. Just by doing it, they make your life more interesting.
There’s a lot of great knittertrubboos out there. But there’s also a lot of great knittertrubboos that never even thought about making a knittertrubboos. Maybe that’s just me. But I think there’s a lot of good knittertrubboos out there, but not a lot of good knittertrubboos that never thought about making a knittertrubboos.
Yeah I feel you about that. Knittertruboos are a great source of inspiration, but knittertruboos that never thought about making a knittertruboo are a little sad. And I know this because I was one of those people. I started my own knitting blog about six years ago and I kept it up for a few years, then the blog died.
